3 Midwestern Ontario residents have been charged following a 10 month investigation into the alleged illegal sale of firearms and ammunition based out of a gun shop in Huron County.  Huron OPP Constable James Stanley says search warrants were executed at Ontario Gun Services and two residences Thursday.

A large quantity of firearms and ammunition was seized.  The trio is to appear in Exeter Court June 28th.  The investigation included assistance from the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit and Huron & Perth OPP detachments.  Anyone with information should contact Huron OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Lambton OPP’s Marine Unit kicks off summer patrols of local waterways this weekend.   Constable Kent Horwood says they will be watching for speeding and checking that the operators have the proper licence.

The Marine Unit patrols the St.Clair River and lower Lake Huron from the Bluewater Bridge north toward Grand Bend.

Sarnia Christian School plans to upgrade it gym and playground this summer to make them more accessible.  Two separate grants, totalling 73 thousand dollars, have been awarded to the school from the Federal Government’s “Enabling Accessibility Fund”.  Marketing director Darren Hakker says the grants don’t cover the full cost of the upgrades, so they hope donation’s and fundraising helps fill in the gaps.

The upgrades are hoped to be completed by the end of July.
